PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health’s daily COVID-19 update for Monday, Nov. 15 showed 745 new total COVID-19 cases reported bringing the state’s total case count to 160,088, up from Friday (159,343). Of those, 192 are probable.
There were eight new COVID-19 deaths reported in Monday’s update bringing the total to 2,289, up from 2,281 on Friday.
The new deaths include five women and three men in the following age ranges: 60-69 (3); 70-79 (1); 80+(4).
The number of active cases reported on Monday is at 6,535, up from Friday (6,496).
Current hospitalizations are at 243, up from Friday (233). Total hospitalizations are at 8,129, up from 8,087 on Friday.
There are 195 confirmed cases reported in West River: 96 in Pennington County, 27 in Lawrence County, 16 in Meade County, 14 in Butte County, 12 in Fall River County, seven in Custer County, and one in Oglala Lakota County.
There are 78 probable cases reported in West River: 19 in Pennington County, and three in Oglala Lakota County, two each in Custer and Fall River Counties,.
In South Dakota, 6,535 cases are considered active, that number is up from 6,496 on Friday.
An additional 698 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 151,264.
