LEAD, S.D. – A domestic incident in Lead Wednesday led to the temporary lockdown of the Lead Middle and High School.
Police say they responded to E. Summit Street in Lead Wednesday morning for a report of a domestic incident and their initial investigation indicated two adult residents were still in the home and refusing to exit or to cooperate with authorities.
Juvenile residents who also lived in the home were no longer inside and as the incident progressed and the scene was secured, law enforcement took steps to notify residents and businesses within close proximity about the situation.
Lead Middle School and Lead High School were placed on a temporary lockdown status for public safety due to their relationships with involved parties.
