RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal crash involving a semi truck and passenger car on Elk Vale Road Monday.
The crash happened at the intersection of North Elk Vale Road and East Mall Drive.
Lt. Mark Eisenbraun with the Rapid City Police confirmed the death Monday afternoon. The deceased individual was in the car.
Authorities were still investigating the crash, but they say the car and semi collided and the car ended up underneath the semi after being drug for approximately 100-feet.
Traffic was being rerouted around the accident scene Monday afternoon.
