BOX ELDER, S.D. – Police in Box Elder have arrested four juveniles in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries.
The four were identified and detained thanks to video surveillance.
According to officials, all are known to law enforcement. During their interviews, the suspects disclosed that they had entered, what they estimated, more than 40 vehicles in a subdivision, yet only a portion have been reported.
A warrant was obtained for a house on the 1300 block of Dakota Drive, Box Elder in Meade County. During the search, officers located several items that were reported missing, which included a loaded 9mm pistol that had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Police say three of the juveniles are from Box Elder, and the other resides outside of the district.
