MITCHELL, S.D. – Governor Kristi Noem on Wednesday signed HB 1090 into law The measure is designed to protect South Dakota agriculture operations from frivolous lawsuits that can delay development and increase costs for producers.
The governor says the bill will ensure agriculture will have continued growth and success in South Dakota. She says the law also applies to agri-tourism.
The event was held at C&B Operations in Mitchell.
In addition to signing HB 1090, the Governor has also signed several agriculture appropriations bills including for water and environmental purposes and the revised construction costs of the bioproducts facility in Brookings.
