PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 62 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and two new deaths.
The two new deaths include one woman and one man. One person was in the 40-49 year age range and one person was in the 70-79 year age range. Minnehaha and Buffalo Counties each had one new death.
As for new cases in the Black Hills area, Pennington County recorded an uptick of 5 cases. Pennington now has 523 cumulative cases and 114 active cases. The number of active cases is down another day as recoveries out pace new cases.
Meade County reported one new COVID-19 positive test, sending its cumulative total to 49. There are ten active cases in Meade, up one from yesterday.
Other new cases across West River include 2 in Oglala Lakota County and one in Custer County.
Statewide, there are 800 active cases of COVID-19, down 1 from Tuesday.
The number of people hospitalized is up 3 today to 65.
