NEWELL, S.D. – The 78th Newell Ram Show & Sale was held Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Newell Fairgrounds. The show and sale has built up a reputation for high quality range and stud rams and ewes for sale.
Consignments from an eight-state region made up the lineup and return buyers routinely bid on the offering.
The Newell Ram Show and Sale had over 285 head of high-quality registered sheep consigned for its 2023 event. Breeds consigned include Rambouillet, Targhee, SAMM, Columbia, Corriedale, Suffolk, Hampshire, South Down and Dorset.

In the wool show, the Supreme fleeces was Forbes and McGivney of Kaycee WY. Reserve went to Finn Ollila of Newell who was also the youth division winner.
Gary Babb Hand spinning fleece was Barb Uhrig of Newell. The Gary Babb award was sponsored by Center of the Nation Wool.
