Kenneth Dean Eaton

Kenny Eaton, age 67, of Faith, SD, passed away at his home in Faith on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Funeral services for Kenny will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Faith Community Center in Faith, SD. Mark Nelson will officiate with burial to follow in the Faith City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Faith Area Memorial Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Faith, SD.

Kenneth Dean Eaton, 67 passed away at home on May 20, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Kenny was born in Faith on July 20, 1955 to Wesley and Barbara (Pesicka)Eaton. He was born 5th of 7 children. Kenny grew up north of Red Elm and attended Red Elm Country school until the family moved to Faith. Kenny graduated from Faith High School in 1973 and then attended Black Hills state University. He married Cindy Hostetter on July 9, 1976. On August 30, 1980 they were blessed with a son, Brett Wesley Eaton. Two years later, their daughter, Lacy was born on June 25, 1982.

Kenny worked for R&S Construction building houses, schools, community buildings, hospitals and jails across South Dakota, North Dakota, and Montana. Kenny and Cindy moved to the family farm/ranch in 1979. Kenny continued working construction and also built the family home on the ranch. In 1992, he decided to quit construction to run the ranch full time. During this time, Kenny enjoyed driving the kids to rodeos all across the country.

In 2005, Kenny and Cindy sold their ranch and moved to Faith where they were living at the time of his death. Kenny was very proud of his 2 children and the lives they created for their families. Kenny was very proud of his grandkids and loved taking them prairie dog hunting, attending their wrestling meets and going to rodeos.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Cindy of Faith, son Brett (Crystal) Eaton of Vale, SD, daughter Lacy Eaton (Levi Rogers) of Woonsocket, SD, grandchildren Tierney Breen, Joe Eaton and Kallie Eaton. Sisters, Judy (Dave) Gano, Wendy Blunt, brothers Merton Eaton, Levi (Laurie) Eaton, Melvin Eaton, and Jim (Candy) Eaton.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Barbara Eaton, his mother and father-in law, Johnny and Betty Hostetter, niece, Tanya Gano and dear friends, Larry Johnson and Doug Dupree, Sr.
