STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says they, with cooperation from the U.S. Marshal’s Service, arrested a wanted fugitive out of the state of Nevada earlier today.
Meade County Chief Deputy James Johns says Robert McHale, of Las Vegas, was considered armed and dangerous by Nevada authorities and was on parole for Attempted Murder. He also had outstanding warrants for armed robbery, aggravated stalking and larceny.
Johns says law enforcement located McHale at a home on Ponderosa Drive in Black Hawk.
Due to the outstanding inter-agency cooperation with the US Marshals, McHale was taken into custody without incident.
Meade County Sheriff Pat West praised the work of the Meade County Deputies and the US Marshals, “Meade County will continue to work hand in hand with other agencies to ensure the safety of our communities. We will never compromise on keeping people safe!”
