RAPID CITY, S.D. – The man who was arrested last week in connection with the shooting of a man on November 4th made his first court appearance Monday.
Charles Colhaff, 35, is charged in the shooting of Morgan Running Horse.
Running Horse was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the area of N. Maple Avenue and E. Knollwood Drive. He was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Colhoff is charged with one count of attempted first degree murder, two counts of being in possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of attempting to commit a felony with a firearm.
He was arrested during a traffic stop in which a pistol was found under his seat.
If convicted, Colhoff could face more than 50 years in prison.
He remains in the Pennington County jail in lieu of a $200,000 cash only bond.
