Man sought in stabbing death apprehended

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police say they have captured a 29-year-old man who is a suspect in an early morning stabbing.

Allman was taken into custody by officers of the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety early today in the Georgetown Housing area near Wanblee. Oglala Tribal Police officers were sent on a suspicious person call, and they say Allman allegedly broke into a house to hide in.

Allman has reportedly been transported to the Pennington County jail in Rapid City and faces a warrant for First Degree Murder in connection with a stabbing incident that took place early Thursday morning in the 1700 block of North 7th Street.

According to Rapid City Police, they responded to a call of a man lying in the grass bleeding. Upon arrival, authorities noticed the victim was suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The man, who has yet to be identified, was transported to the hospital where he died.

Police say a second individual has also been arrested for allegedly driving Allen away from the scene of the crime. Thalia Rice, age 41, was placed under arrest Friday for Accessory to First Degree Murder.
