STURGIS, S.D. — Meade County residents are being asked to weigh in on the development of the county’s next comprehensive plan.
Four community meetings are planned in the coming weeks for citizens to learn about the comprehensive plan as well as update and share their ideas about the future growth and development of Meade County.
An update on the comprehensive plan and survey results will be presented, followed by an opportunity for participants to share their ideas and vision for the future of Meade County.
The survey results featured answers from 292 participants who answered questions about quality and services, housing, transportation, land use and development and other shared concerns about the future of the county.
Meetings will be held in Piedmont, Sturgis and Faith. The meeting in Piedmont will be held at the American Legion Post on Tuesday, November 8th. The Sturgis meeting will be held at the Meade County Erskine Building on Thursday, November 10 and the Faith Meeting is Tuesday, November 15th at the Faith Community Center. Meetings run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The meeting in Piedmont will also have a 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. gathering.
