STURGIS, SD – Home improvement retailers Home Depot and Lowe’s are the latest companies to require shoppers to wear a mask inside stores. Home Depot announced that starting July 22, all customers are expected to wear masks, except for small children and people with medical conditions preventing them from wearing a face covering. Those with medical conditions are being requested to speak to a Home Depot employee before walking into the store, USA Today reported.
Lowe’s also announced that starting July 20, masks will be required at all of its stores in the U.S., the Washington Post reported. If a customer does not have a mask, a free mask will be given at the customer service desk, while supplies last, the company said in a press release.
The home improvement stores are following other retailers like Walmart, Target, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS and Kohl’s for requiring shoppers to wear masks.
