STURGIS, S.D. – The world famous Knuckle Saloon in Sturgis is under new ownership.
Curtis Venable has bought the business, and he says it will remain open year round.
Speaking with KBHB Radio News Friday, Venable says he and his partners own some other bars, including in North Carolina where he resides.
Venable says he wants to bring more people into Sturgis and enjoy places like the Knuckle when there are events taking place in other Black Hills area towns…
Venable says he has a home in Deadwood and spends a lot of time in the Black Hills.
He says they are also big into charities and look forward to hosting events that give back.
Venable says both the Knuckle Saloon and neighboring brewery will remain open and says the Saloon will remain open throughout the year on its current schedule and the brewery may see reduced hours during the off season.
Bryan Carter, a now former co-owner of The Knuckle, thanked the community, their dedicated staff and customers for 23 years of great times.
