RAPID CITY, S.D. – Law enforcement in Rapid City and the highway patrol are looking into a two vehicle accident that has killed one person and injured two others.
The accident happened Friday morning, just before 11:30 at the intersection of East Mall Drive and Elk Vale Road.
Authorities say a Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on East Mall Drive when it collided with a Ford pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Elk Vale Road.
The collision caused the pickup truck to roll over onto its top.
One person in the pickup was declared dead at the scene. A total of three people were involved; two in the pickup and one in the passenger car. The other two people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators are working to piece together what happened leading to the crash.
