RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City police are investigating the death of a person found in Rapid Creek Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Brendyn Median says they were called to Rapid Creek at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for what they initially thought was going to be a water rescue.
First responders soon discovered that the person was deceased.
The body was found near the Kia dealership on Cambell Street.
The gender of the individual was not released Tuesday and authorities are planning an autopsy. Investigation into the unattended death is underway.
