Rapid City fire crews respond to second fireworks-caused fire in as many days

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Fire crews in Rapid City responded to a Saturday afternoon north of Settlers Creek.

The fire is blamed on fireworks.

Fire crews worked quickly to stop the forward progress of the fire and kept it from reaching houses located in the area.

It’s the second fire in as many days in Rapid City believed to have been sparked by fireworks.

Fireworks are illegal inside Rapid City city limits with the exception of novelty fireworks like snaps and sparklers.
