RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police Monday say the unattended death that was reported on Friday has now been ruled a homicide.
After an autopsy, it was determined that the yet unidentified man was killed by a stab wound to the torso.
Police stated that they interviewed several individuals close to the deceased man and took 50-year-old Philip Chips of Amsterdam, New York into custody.
Chips was arrested Monday and is being charged with Second Degree Murder.
Rapid City police say the homicide remains under investigation.
