RAPID CITY, S.D. – Post 22 opened up their season with a sweep of Mitchell in a Saturday double-header.
In Game one, Post 22 rolled to an 18-3 win in five innings.
The Hardhats opened with 5 runs in the first before adding 4 in the second and 2 in the third. They broke the game open with a 7 run fourth inning.
Jake Goble, Blake Weaver and Dillon Richey each had 2 hits and Weaver, Richey and Colton Hartford each had 3 R.B.I.’s.
In a much closer second game, The Hardhats scored 2 each in the second and third and a 4-run fourth inning helped them get the 8-5 win.
Branson Kuehl, Ryan Bachman and Colton Hartford each had 2 hits and Bachman added 3 R.B.I.’s.
Dylan Richey struck out 7 batters for Post 22 in 3.1 innings of work.
Post 22 finished with 11 hits and 2 errors. Mitchell finished with 3 hits and 1 error.
