RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City teenager has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on two counts of aggravated assault in connection with an attempted carjacking.
Jesse Walters was 17 when he and another juvenile attacked a couple in the parking lot of a restaurant at Rapid City’s Uptown Mall.
A woman was waiting in the car while her husband was inside the restaurant getting their order. Walters and the juvenile assaulted the woman and attacked the woman’s partner when he exited the restaurant.
Walters pled guilty to two counts of aggravated assault in July after reaching an agreement with prosecutors. Walters had two years of his prison sentence suspended and will serve the two prison terms concurrently.
