UNDATED – After starting the season 2-0, the Sturgis Scooper boys soccer team has fallen on some tough times.
Against one of their arch rivals Thursday night, the Scoopers had hoped to end a two-game losing skid against Spearfish.
The Spartans, however, had other ideas and shut out the Scoopers 5-0.
The Scooper boys are now 2-3 on the season and Spearfish remains undefeated at 8-0.
The Scooper girls also played Spearfish Thursday and put up a good fight, only to drop a 2-1 matchup to the Spartans.
The Scooper girls fall to 2-3 on the season. The Spartan girls improve to 5-3.
