PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Supreme Court has upheld the life sentence of Jonathon Klinetobe.
The Sturgis man was sentenced last year for his role in the death of his former girlfriend, Jessica Rehfeld.
Last year, Klinetobe pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aiding and abetting first-degree manslaughter.
Despite the reduced charge, Klinetobe was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
He appealed, and the Supreme Court this week found no abuse of discretion.
