South Dakota records 91 new COVID-19 cases Saturday

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 91 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday and three new deaths.

Two of the deaths were out of Pennington County and one death was in Minnehaha County.

Pennington County saw an increase of 11 cases Saturday. The county has a  cumulative total of 497 with 135 active cases.

Meade and Lawrence counties each reported one additional case. Meade has 10 active cases and a cumulative total of 47. Lawrence County has 4 active cases and 19 cumulative.

Oglala Lakota County saw a double-digit increase in cases Saturday, reporting 15 new positive COVID-19 tests.

The county has 83 cumulative cases and 42 are active.

The statewide active caseload rose 23 to 818.

There are 73 people hospitalized as of Saturday – that is down 6 from Friday.

The state’s death toll is now 91.
