UNDATED – The 2024 South Dakota High School Activities Association’s spring state golf championships wrapped up action on Tuesday.
Watertown won the team title in girls AA, Sioux Falls Christian claimed the team title in girls Class A, and then Chester took home the Class B girls title. Wessington Springs claimed the team title in boys Class B.
In Girls Class B, Chester won team title with a score of 94, followed by Miller with a 107 in second place. Brynn Roehrich of Clark/Willow Lake won the individual title with a two day score of 152. Jayce Pugh of Miller finished in second.
At the Girls Class A tournament, Sioux Falls Christian had the low team score of 66 with Vermillion’s 98 good for second. St Thomas More finished in fifth place. Winning the individual title was Kaitlin Strain of St Thomas More with a two day score of 152. She finished two strokes ahead of Tori Peterson of Sioux Falls Christian and Ari Jacobs of West Central.
At the Girls Class AA tournament, Watertown edged out Mitchell for the team title with Aberdeen Central finishing in third. Winning the individual title was Allison Meyerink of Mitchell with a 149. Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central was second with a 150. For Sturgis, Lilly Heisinger finished in the top 20 at 20.
And, at the Boys Class B tourney, Wessington Springs won the team title with a 46, followed by Hanson in second and Hamlin. Hill City finished in sixth place and Wall placed seventh. Capturing the individual title was Gavin Colson of Sully Buttes with a 150, followed by Chet Peterson of Ipswich and Tyalor Kriech of Colman-Egan who finished in a tie for second.
