State Wrestling Girls – First Round Complete as Scoopers advance three

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The girls have completed the first round of action at the State Wrestling Tournament in Sioux Falls.

Three Sturgis wrestlers have won their opening round matches and head to the quarterfinals.

AT 113 pounds, Brooklyn Baird got a pin over Nevaeh Baade of Pierre. At 120, Brooklyn Brant defeated Isabella Shepherd with a pin in 1:21. And, at 126, Madison Snyder pinned Rylee Bird of Dell Rapids in :57  seconds.

Other area first round winners are Maraia Kruske of Spearfish, Trinity Duran of Stevens, and Kyra Vandenberg of Belle Fourche at 106; Shea Irion of Spearfish at 113, Cassandra Witte of RC Central at 120; Sydney  Badwound of Spearfish at 126; Taylor Graveman of Spearfish at 132; Jayden Werlinger of Spearfish at 142; Trinity Zopp of Lead-Deadwood at 154 and Destiny Triplet of Douglas at 285.
