Sturgis Brown High School Culinary Team to participate in state competition

STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Brown High School Culinary Team is getting ready for competition.

They will compete in the South Dakota ProStart Culinary Arts Competition, which runs March 13 through the 14th.

This week, the team held their last practice before the competition and their instructor, Joseph Koons, says this competition is meant to help advance their knowledge of the culinary world, while also honing an important skill set they would be able to use in their everyday lives.

The team’s goal is to reach the ProStart National Culinary Competition, but first, they would need to rank among the top teams in Pierre.
