Sturgis erases 2-0 deficit; come back to beat Custer in Tuesday night Volleyball

STURGIS, S.D. – The Custer Wildcats came in to Sturgis Tuesday night looking for their third win of the season while the Scoopers were hoping to win their second match.

Custer started strong in the first set, cruising to a 25-14 victory. The Wildcats would follow that up with a hard fought 25-22 win in set 2.

With their backs to the wall, the Scoopers came out in set 3, and picked up a 25-16 win to force a fourth set.

The Scoopers battled the Wildcats to the end in set 4 and took advantage of some Custer mistakes to force a decisive set five with a 25-23 victory.

Custer would threaten to win the match, by taking a four point lead late in set 5. But, the Scoopers would battle back and take the match with a 15-11 set five win.

Avery Fogelman helped lead Sturgis with 24 assists while Tori Williams added 10 kills.

Leading Custer were Kylee Pulscher with 27 assists and Jordan Larson with 12 kills.

The Scoopers improve to 2-5 on the season while Custer falls to 2-3.
