STURGIS, S.D. – Next up for the Sturgis Adventure Park and relating Tax Increment Financing District is the Sturgis City Council.
That, after the planning commission approved the plan last night.
At its Tuesday night meeting, the Sturgis Planning Commission approved recommendation of TIF District #25 – the Vanocker Canyon Estates and proposed Sturgis Adventure Park.
The proposed park holds numerous opportunities for different amenities as well as surrounding development on 77 acres of land the city purchased earlier this year on the south end of Sturgis.
The plan was previously approved by the city’s Park Board.
Discussion of the proposed park and TIF district that will help pay for it will be in front of the council at its November 21st meeting.
If adopted by the council, the next step would be to hire an architect to come up with a complete design.
