Sturgis Police end high speed chase Friday night

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Police say an 18-year-old male led them on a high speed chase through town Friday night.

Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater tells KBHB News it started when they attempted to stop a Dodge Charger for speeding.

The vehicle failed to stop and took off at high speeds driving in a reckless manner through residential areas of town.

The vehicle finally came to a stop in a driveway and officers were able to take the driver into custody.

The driver was identified as 18-year-old Brady McKeown. Vandewater says he was charged with multiple traffic violations, possession of a fake license and possession of alcohol.

A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was turned over to his parents.
