Sturgis Police report increase in Rally D.U.I. arrests

STURGIS, S.D. – As the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally celebrates military appreciation day today, Sturgis Police remain busy tending to calls for service.

Police report 11 misdemeanor drug arrests yesterday bringing the yearly total to 50. Felony drug arrests totaled 8 yesterday sending the 2024 total to 22.

Police arrested a dozen people for D.U.I. Monday. The total to date rises to 38.

Illegal parking citations totaled a dozen Monday, with the yearly total to date now at 74. That is up 6 over last year on this date.

Traffic arrests total 129 while non-traffic arrests total 100. So far, 85 people have been booked in to the Meade County Jail.

Sturgis Police have responded to approximately 819 calls for service so far for the 84^th annual Rally.
