STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Public Works Department says they’ll be helping residents with tree limb removal after the heavy snow event Tuesday and Wednesday.
Starting Monday, the city asks that you cut up all branches and limbs in 6 foot lengths and place them in the adjacent street, without creating a road hazard. Crews will then come thru and haul them off.
City officials say:
“This will be very similar to Spring/Fall Clean up in that we will come on your normal scheduled trash day. If you live on a road such as Junction/Lazelle where you cannot place the branches in the street, we ask that you bring them to the nearest side street.
If you have a special situation please call Public Works Department and we can discuss what options may be available.”
City officials say in doing this Exit 32 site will be closed and not accepting branches. Sturgis Residents can also haul their branches to the Sturgis Rubble Site free of charge by showing your current water bill.
