RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper boys wrestling team is red hot to start the season, as they captured their fourth straight team title by winning the Rapid City Invite Saturday.
The Scoopers finished with 235 points. well ahead of second place Bismarck with 169. Watertown was third in the team standings with 163 and Rapid City Stevens placed fourth.
The Scoopers crowned two champions in Tyler Baldwin at 113 pounds and Josheph Nadig at 165 pounds. The Scoopers also had two reserve champions in Kalvin Ketelsen at 150 and Zhoel Irion at 175.
Other area athlete winners include Tray Weiss of Custer at 132, Jacob Williams of Stevens won at 157 and Ayden Kellogg of Stevens at 215.
