LEAD, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper girls and boys cross country teams swept the Mile High Preview Cross Country race on Tuesday.
Both Scooper teams finished in first place.
The Sturgis boys finished on top with 32 points. Douglas placed second and Belle Fourche was third. The Scooper Girls finished with 18 to win the team title with Belle Fourche a distant second.
Sturgis also captured both individual races.
Winning the boys race in a time of 13:26.20 was Ty Petrocco. Lane Krautschun of Belle Fourche came in second and Quinn Bruch of Sturgis was third.
Winning the girls race was Iris Zylstra in a time of 16:14.57. Rarity Cournoyer of Red Cloud was second and Lucy Hamer of Sturgis was third.
