Sunday COVID-19 Report – 13 new cases across Western South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. – The state department of health reported 65 new cases of COVID-19 in its Sunday report.

In the Black Hills area, Pennington County added 8 new cases, sending their cumulative total to 386 with 180 active.

For a second day in a row, Meade County added 3 new cases, sending their cumulative total to 36 with 15 active.

In all, 13 cases were found west river. Other cases included one in Oglala Lakota County and one in Corson County.

There are currently 924 active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota, down six from Saturday. The number of recoveries rose by 71.

There are currently 87 people hospitalized, up two from Saturday.

No new coronavirus related deaths were reported on Sunday, leaving the state’s total at 75.
