PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 43 new COVID-19 cases in its Sunday report and there were two new positive tests reported in the Black Hills area.
There was one positive test in Pennington County and one positive test in Fall River County.
The majority of the cases were in Minnehaha County, although it was the lowest amount of cases reported there in over two weeks. The state’s hardest hit county reported an additional 19 cases.
There are 811 active cases currently in the state and a total of 1,799 people have recovered, a change of 40 from the previous day.
There are currently 71 people hospitalized and the state’s death toll remained at 21.
Over 15,700 Coronavirus tests have returned as negative in the state. Pennington County has recorded 787 negative tests, Meade County has returned 173 and Lawrence County has 178.
