PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported an additional 124 positive tests for COVID-19 in its Sunday report.
Pennington County saw one of their largest daily increases with 7 new confirmed cases. The new cases raised Pennington County’s cumulative total to 26 with 15 active cases. Neighboring Meade County did not report any new cases.
Minnehaha County reported the most cases with 100. Lincoln County reported two new cases and Brown County had an additional 10 new positive cases. Counties with one new case each included Aurora, Grant, Roberts, Todd and Yankton.
There are now 1,336 active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota – an uptick of 102 from Saturday. An additional 22 recoveries were reported in Sunday’s report.
Current hospitalizations are at 77, down two from Saturday’s 79. Total hospitalizations in the state are at 261, up 8 from Saturday.
The number of deaths remained at 34.
