PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota health officials reported 235 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, with 57 of them listed as probable.
One new death was reported. The death was a man age 20-29 from Union County. The death toll is now at 1,949.
Active cases of the virus totaled 2,328, down from Wednesday’s 2,391. The number of people hospitalized was down by 4 to 109.
24 confirmed cases were reported West River: 11 in Pennington County, four in Meade County, three each in Dewey and Fall River Counties and one each in Butte, Corson and Lawrence Counties.
Six new probable cases were reported West River: three in Pennington County and one each in Custer, Meade and Tripp Counties.
There were 1,015 new persons tested in the data reported on Thursday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 23.05%.
