PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 319 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, with 85 of them considered probable.
There were 10 new deaths among cases reported, sending the state’s death toll since the pandemic began to 1,614.
Active cases decreased by 34 to 4,728 and the number of people hospitalized dropped six to 247.
New cases across West River counties were 86 with 17 of them listed as probable.
Pennington County reported the most over the past 24 hours with 50 new cases, of which, 7 were listed as probable.
Meade County added 7 new cases, sending the cumulative total to 2,385 and 119 cases remain active.
Lawrence County added 3 new confirmed cases for a total of 2,675 and 92 remain active.
Other new cases across the Black Hills area included 5 in Oglala Lakota, 3 in Fall River and two each in Custer and Butte counties.
