Timothy E. Smith

Tim Smith, 71, passed away peacefully from cancer at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota with his oldest and youngest by his side. He was born on September 21, 1952, to Gloria Zercher (Stuffle) and Richard Smith in Hanover, Pennsylvania. He graduated from South Western High School in 1971 and then enlisted in the US Air Force. He retired 20 years later as a Staff Sergeant!

Tim is survived by his mother, Gloria; two brothers, Earl Smith and Donald Smith; two sisters, Diane Hofe and Wendy Nolt; his three children, Scott (Rita) Drury, April Pehringer (Jeremy Kitchens) and Amanda Smith; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his dog, Diamond.

Those who will meet him at Heaven’s gates are his grandparents, Earl and Thelma Stuffle, Russell and Louise Smith; father, Richard Smith; and his stepfather, Albert Zercher.

He will be missed greatly and was loved by many!

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Black Hills Funeral Home. His funeral service will take place Monday, February 26, 2024, at 9:30 am at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Burial will immediately follow at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ellsworth Air Force Honor Guard.
