Trial dates set for Deadwood man charged with killing his wife

DEADWOOD, S.D. – A trial date has been set for a Spearfish man who is accused of shooting and killing his wife in February.

Dreau Lester Rogers, 34, is charged with first degree murder.

A judge has set a trial date of March 13-23 for Rogers, who could face up to life in prison if convicted. The state had declined to pursue the death penalty.

Rogers is accused of shooting to death his wife, Destiny Rogers, on February 22nd.

Rogers had initially told authorities another man shot Destiny. A further investigation by police showed that man was not on scene when the incident occurred.
