Winter Weather in the northern hills makes traveling hazardous Wednesday

STURGIS, S.D. – Winter weather in the northern hills have caused some travel problems Wednesday morning.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol and local law enforcement have been busy responding to accidents, especially along the I-90 corridor from the Wyoming state line down to Piedmont.

A rollover was reported near Exit 17 at Spearfish and a Fed-Ex truck was reportedly involved in a slide-off the Interstate this morning.

SD511 reports roads in the Northern Hills are slippery with blowing snow cutting visibility. Travel cameras along I-90 at Sturgis show poor visibility with snow blowing across the road.

There are winter weather advisories up for the Northern Hills, as well as northeast Wyoming and southeast Montana.
