Active cases continue decrease, ten new deaths reported in Tuesday COVID-19 Update

PIERRE, S.D. – Health officials on Tuesday reported 1,756 new cases of COVID-19 with 430 of those listed as probable. The Tuesday report includes numbers from the weekend.

Active cases continue to see a downward trend, as 30,559 are reported today. The number of hospitalizations was down as well to 366.

Ten new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,660. Of those, one was out of Pennington County where the death toll is now 311.

New cases across the Black Hills included 312 in Pennington County, where 34 of those were listed as probable.

Meade County reported 76 new cases Tuesday with 5 of those probable, and Lawrence County added 56 new cases with 6 probable.

Elsewhere, Butte County had 38 new cases, Custer County listed 20, Fall River County reported 25 and Oglala Lakota County showed 113.
