HERMOSA, S.D. – A new fire start was reported Tuesday afternoon on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
The fire had burned 650 acres near Red Shirt in the Cheyenne River Valley, about 14 miles east of Hermosa.
Federal, state and local resources responded to the blaze, along with three Single Engine Air Tankers to drop water on the fire.
Great Plains Fire Dispatch says the cause of the fire was unknown.
