PIERRE, S.D. – Health officials reported 342 new COVID-19 cases Thursday with 75 of those considered as probable.
Active cases have dropped below 6,000 to 5,963. The number of people hospitalized also dropped to 201.
Five new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,182.
New cases across the Black Hills area included 70 in Pennington County, where 9 of those were listed as probable.
Lawrence County reported 11 new cases and Meade County had 10.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota tallied 11 new cases, Harding County had 4, Fall River County reported 3 new cases and there were 2 each in Butte and Custer Counties.
