PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 670 new cases of COVID-19 in their Wednesday report.
Active cases dropped to 17,583 while hospitalizations remained at 312 for a second day in a row.
Nine new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,706. Of the new deaths, three were out of Pennington County.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 108 new cases, Lawrence County had 21 and Meade County listed 20.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County had 24 new cases, Butte County added a dozen, Fall River County listed 6 and there were 5 out of Custer County.
