Kadoka hosts Discount Fuel/Gas and Go Track and Field Meet

KADOKA, S.D. – Kadoka hosted area tracksters Saturday for the Discount Fuel/Gas and Go Track and Field Meet.

On the boys side, Edgemont had a strong showing in the races.

Ryker Howell was a double event winner as he captured the 100 and 200 meter dashes. His teammate Braden Peterson won the 400.

Newell’s Garrett Winkler captured the 800, Philip’s Reese Henrie won the 1,600 and Tyce Gropper of Bennett County won the long distance 3,200 meters.

Hill City’s Grayson Rahn swept the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.

Four different winners captured the relay races with Faith winning the 4 x 100, Philip won the 4 x 200, Edgemont won the 4 x 400 and Bennett County won the 4 x 800.

Kadoka captured the medley.

Gabe Bushong of Faith was a double event winner, taking the shot put and discus throw.

Cruz Mollman of Lead-Deadwood won the pole vault.

Braden Peterson of Edgemont added a third first place trophy as he won the long jump.

Samuel Hand of Philip won the triple jump.

On the girls’ side;

Eden Fanning of Bennett County won the 100 meters, Portia Wiebers of New Underwood won the 200, Taylor Byerley of Lakota Tech won the 400 and the 800 and Paiton Flick of Hill City captured the 1,600. Bethany Mahaffy of Newell won the long distance 3,200.

Morgan Peterson of Edgemont won the 100 meter hurdles and Portia Wiebers of New Underwood won the 300 meter hurdles.

Edgemont captured two of the relay races, the 4 x100 and the 4 x 200, as well as the special medley relay. New Underwood won the 4 x 400.

Cassidy Moody of Hill City won the shot put and her teammate Whitney Edwards won the discus.

Rebecca Shuck of Kadoka won the high jump and Clarissa Heisinger captured the pole vault title.

Sydney Sobolewski of New Underwood won the triple jump and Rhea Tucker of White River won the long jump.
