UNDATED – A large wildfire has broken out Monday night in Perkins County.
The Perkins County Sheriff reports a large fire burning west of Bison that has now crossed Highway 20, a mile south of Hwy. 20 at the Bison Golf Course.
Authorities say anyone near or in the path of this fire should be ready for quickly-changing conditions and make preparations to evacuate.
The sheriff’s office also tweeted Monday night that people need to stay off the roads near the fire because they are hampering the firefighting effort.
Meanwhile, a fire burning in Jones County that shut down I-90 earlier Monday has grown in size.
The Dry Creek Fire, is currently estimated at 9,400 acres. It is five miles north of Okaton and nine miles northwest of Murdo.
