Monday’s COVID-19 report – 19 new cases, continued drop in active cases

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health released the latest COVID-19 report Monday, indicating 19 new cases with two of those listed as probable.

The department did not release a report on Friday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday and no report is issued over the weekend.

Monday’s update covers data through Thursday, June 17. Tuesday’s update will include the Friday through Monday update.

Active cases in the state have declined to 154, however the number of people hospitalized due to the virus was up 3 today to 31.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 2,027.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 7 new cases.

Pennington County had 6 of the new cases and Butte County reported the other.
