Monday’s COVID report – 46 new cases; six new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

Active cases have dropped below three-thousand as 2,919 are reported today.

The number of people hospitalized remained the same as Friday at 88.

Six new deaths among cases were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,859. Counties reporting new deaths include Hughes, Lake, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Roberts and Todd.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 9 new cases. Pennington County had three, Custer and Oglala Lakota County each reported two and there was one new case each out of Meade and Butte counties.
