STURGIS, S.D. – In a low turnout, a newcomer, incumbent and former member won three available seats on the Meade 46-1 School Board Tuesday.
Aaron Odegaard of Black Hawk, a new candidate running, garnered the most votes with an unofficial tally of 619.
He will be joined on the board by former board member Terry Koontz of Sturgis and incumbent Charlie Wheeler of Piedmont. Koontz got 447 votes and Wheeler had 424.
The other three candidates running for the board had the following unofficial number of votes:

The top three candidates receive a three-year term on the board.
The election will be canvassed at this month’s school board meeting.
